Changing Tides Cafe & Donut Shop - Newburyport, MA
This cafe sits on a side street near downtown Newburyport. The shop offers cake and yeast donuts made fresh every day. They’re light, fluffy and a hit with the locals! I didn’t expect fresh blueberries on top of donuts and thought that was an interesting topping. I love blueberries so of course I had to try it and yum! Get there early on the weekends before the flavors run out.

Union Square Donuts
Union Square Donuts is perhaps the most iconic shop on our Best Donuts in Massachusetts list. With four locations across the city, it’s an easy stop to add to your next visit to Boston. They have a tantalizing (and famous!) Instagram account (@unionsquaredonuts) where they introduce new weekly flavors and behind-the-scenes footage. Most recently, they had a “Chicken and Waffles” flavor ready for the Superbowl… we had to try it! The maple-glazed donut was covered in fried chicken skin, waffle pieces, and hot honey.
Below is a picture from our recent visit (see the cheesecake brownie bar donuts?! Amazing.)
